To Whome it Concerns,
I started at MTC on May 9th, 2008 with no knowledge of truck driving or truck parts. I came everyday on time and applied myself to the curriculum that was being offered, and it works.
If you LISTEN & PAY ATTENTION to the instructors and NOT take the GOSSIP thats being said about whatever, you will succeed.
I finished in 17 days, so the 14-21 day thing they promise is real, if you apply yourself..whole not part-time.
ENOUGH SAID
Good Luck,

Hello, My name is Orlando B and I'm a graduate of MTC.
While I was attending MTC, I must admit, it was a little scary at first, then I met a few friends. They made it a little easier to deal with and fun. But I got a little frustrated, and wanted to give up. When I approached Joan Canada to advise her of my decision, boy I was shocked to what happened next. I was expecting her to just say ok, you can leave but remember you will owe, after all I did sign a contract. I was dead wrong, Joan took me and she got Phil, (my instructor) she had me to tell Phil what I had just told her, and then he explained to me that nothing in life is easy, you have to want something bad enough in life and just go for it, after all if I quit then I would be a quitter, and that was something that I did not want to be called. Phil also explained to me that my thought about these test were wrong, all I had to do to pass was just get an 85 on my pre-trip, get the truck inside the cones with as little pull ups as possible, and pass my road. So I agreed to stay, my friend Todd Watson found out that I wanted to quit and he was very upset with me, so he took me and he and I studied all night long and on all spare time my pre-trip, I was told that I had 1 day to get ready to take all of my test, the night before Todd stayed in my room and we studied. The next morning, I took my road test in the rain, and I passed, next came my yard test, and I passed that, and last came my pre-trip test, to my surprise I passed. Well now feeling excited about going the next day for my CDL, I got scared again when I found out that I would be going to the St.Louis location, because I had heard alot of negative things about the St.Louis location. Come to found out none of it was true. I went to take my test and took my pre-trip first, then I took my yard, next came my road and I failed the road, I did not agree with the examiner, he told me that the reason I failed was because I did not go the speed limit on an off ramp when I was told at school, that if the speed limit is 45mph then you can go 40mph, not understanding why I failed, I called Joan told her what had happened and she had me back there the following day. And this time I passed.
After taking my finals, I left on Sunday for Edwardsville, KS, I think that most of the guys on the bus were going to Swift Transportation, it was great meeting new friends and all the people that I met at MTC. Orientation started on Monday and we were done on Wednesday. Next came going out on a truck with a mentor, I could not believe how much fun I was having, it was great. I was so glad that I did not give up. And now I'm driving my very own 2009 Volvo and now I'm driver 1 as a team driver.
I'm so glad that I did not give up, and that I kept going forward. Driving a truck is freedom, I get to see different places, and I set my own time, even tho I have a driver manager, it's like I'm my own boss and I do not miss my old job as an legal assistant, working 9-5(m-f). I get to see different places in the US, like the 4corners, Grand Canon, Las Vegas, LA, New Orleans, and the world's largest truck stop.
Thank You MTC
